2 students injured, 1 in custody after stabbing at Shadle Park High School

SPOKANE, Wash. — Shadle Park High School is currently under “secure and teach” after a stabbing occurred at the school Thursday morning.

According to the Spokane Police Department, two students have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a stabbing that occurred inside the school around 8 a.m.

As law enforcement arrived on scene, a student was quickly taken into custody and is no longer a threat to other students.

Right now, Spokane Public Schools has released that Shadle Park High School is under “secure and teach” while police are on scene investigating the incident.

In an email to Shadle Park parents it states that:

“The school entered Secure and Teach this morning when there was an altercation between two students. Campus safety, law enforcement and emergency services responded quickly to address the situation. No other students or staff were impacted.”

“During Secure and Teach, exterior doors are locked, but normal activities continue inside the building.”
