1 in custody, police search for 16-year-old connected to possible robbery on Spokane’s South Hill

SPOKANE, Wash. – One person is in custody, and police are searching for a 16-year-old after a possible robbery at the 7/11 on the South Hill.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), around 2:30 p.m., police received reports of two men in ski masks, possibly armed, jumping over the counters, initiating a robbery near the 1300 block of South Grand. The two men fled as officers arrived at the scene.

SPD said a victim of the theft, also an employee of the store, followed the suspects while giving police updates. One suspect was placed in custody a few blocks away. The man fully cooperated with police and has since been released without charges.

SPD has probable cause to arrest the second suspect, a 16-year-old boy who is known to law enforcement. The boy has a second warrant out for his arrest for a different robbery.
