1 dead after shooting near Moran Prairie, suspect is in custody

SPOKANE, Wash. — A suspect is in custody following a shooting near Moran Prairie early Wednesday morning that left one man dead.

Just after 3 a.m. on Jan. 24, Spokane police responded to a call of a man who was shot at his home in the 3300 block of east 55th Avenue.

As officers arrived on scene, a man was found with a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving measures done by police and medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

In connection to this crime, 22-year-old Cody Low was detained and charged with second degree murder.

The same day, Low was booked into Spokane County Jail.

This is an ongoing Major Crimes investigation. The identity, cause and manner of death for the victim will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.
