1 dead after house fire in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE, Wash. — One person has died following a house fire in Moses Lake last night.

On Nov. 5 around 10 p.m., the Moses Lake Fire Department were called to a structure fire on Crestmont Drive in Moses Lake. As crews were on their way, dispatchers notified them that there was someone stuck inside the residence.

As crew arrived, there were active flames and heavy black smoke coming from the two-story home.

At the time the fires started, there were four people inside. Three were able to exit the home but one person was unable to escape and died from the smoke and heat from the fire.

The fire was extinguished around 10:45 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown and crews are continuing to investigate.
