MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — One person is dead and one is hospitalized after a head-on collision on westbound I-90 near Four Lakes.
Spokane police arrived to the crash at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning. As they were on scene a driver was trapped inside their vehicle. Firefighters arrived to remove them and life flight was advised depending on their condition.
This crash was reported as a serious injury collision but as of 7:29 a.m., it has been upgraded to a fatal collision.
The cause of the collision has not been released.
As of now one lane on westbound I-90 has been reopened.
Law enforcement is still currently on scene, so be aware of vehicles in the area.

A head-on collision on westbound I-90 near Four Lakes is currently blocking all westbound lanes and causing traffic delays.
On Jan. 11 around 5:25 a.m., Spokane police and firefighters were called to a head-on collision on westbound I-90 near milepost 267.
As the first units arrived on scene, they called for an extrication response as one driver was trapped inside the vehicle.
Fire crews arrived on scene and successfully got the driver out of the vehicle who is being treated for serious injuries.

Law enforcement remains on scene to continue investigating this incident and provide medical care to both drivers involved.
The cause of the crash and extent of injuries are unknown at this time. But the driver who was extricated from the vehicle was said to be suffering from serious injuries.
There is no estimated reopening of the roadway for drivers.
