BOZEMAN, Mont. – A family is searching for woman reported missing in the Bozeman and Livingston area.

Megan Ashley Stedman has been missing since December 15 and friends and family reported after attempts were made to contact her. Stedman’s brother and sister, Adrianand Maria Mitma, have been making trips to Bozeman to search for her and the Bozeman Police Department has been investigating.

Stedman is 34 years old and described as Native American and African American, 5 feet and 7 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. Both of her ears are pierced, and she has a tattoo of a fish skeleton on her right wrist.

According to police, she is missing under suspicious circumstances, and they are concerned for her safety. Detective Sergeant Ben King said they could not elaborate on what makes the case suspicious to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Stedman is originally from Spokane, Washington and has been living in Bozeman and Livingston, and working at a Town Pump in Livingston, Adrian said. She has been living in a large 1973 Landau RV with a red stripe and damage to the driver’s side taillight, Mitma said.

“Megan is – she’s very, very social, 100% extrovert. If you met Megan, you would notice her right away. She’s talkative, she loves to smile and she makes sure that you’re involved. You know, you’re just somebody she met, she’ll make sure that you have fun or at least that you’re comfortable in where you’re at.”

She was originally trying to drive to Colorado but broke down in Livingston and was working to save money so she could get the RV repaired, he said.

When friends last heard from her on December 15, she was asking them to send her money so she could get home to Spokane, but since then there has been no word, Mitma said. Stedman is on Mitma’s phone plan, and she has not had any activity since that same day.

If you have information on Megan Stedman or think you’ve seen her, call the Bozeman Police Department or Detective Sergeant King directly at the numbers below.
