‘You don’t know who’s watching you’: Spokane woman has E-bike stolen

SPOKANE, Wash. – A North Spokane woman says when a thief broke into her shed and stole her Ebike, he took much more than just some property.

“My independence, yes,” Andy DenAdel said. “I can’t drive because of my epilepsy.”

Andy and her husband Allen were thrilled to purchase his and her e-bikes that would give her the ability to get around when he wasn’t able to drive her places. Something that is especially crucial as she often checks on loved ones.

“I can get to my dad’s (home) on that bike in three minutes,” she said. “He lives up the road, if he needs anything..and he’s elderly, I can get to him quick.”

The couple lives near Mansfield and Elm. They say they take home security very seriously and have cameras and motion activated lights throughout their property. They believe this was a well planned out crime.

“We did have a video of him coming up and over the fence,” Allen said. “He goes straight to the door, bolt cutters were out, he broke the lock, reached in and grabbed my wife’s bike.”

The whole thing took roughly 90 seconds. Their cameras captured it all but didn’t provide a clear shot of his face.

“He had a surgical mask on,” Allen said.

A preparation the couple believes whoever did this made when he spotted cameras during a suspected earlier trip to their home.

“November 25th was the first time, after we went back through the video,” the couple said.

Because the suspect’s face was so well concealed when he stole the Ebike, it’s impossible to make a definite match, but they find the timing highly suspicious. Days after cameras caught someone peering over the fence, their shed was broken into.

Only Andy’s bike was taken. Whoever did this, didn’t grab the Ebike battery or key.

“We found out it’s awfully hard to get a battery to replace for that,” Allen said.

They’re hopeful they will get it back, but also wanted to share this story as a reminder to all of us. Be hypervigilant, check security cameras, and your surroundings often.

“It’s bothersome,” Allen said. “You don’t know who’s watching you.”

The e-bike was a 2022 Rad Rover 6 Plus with customizations including a basket for Andy. The serial number is RUC22F0005. If you know anything at all about the December 5, 2023 break-in please call crime check at 509
