Woman, two children injured after fall from third-story of an apartment complex in north Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives are currently investigating what they call a possible “mental health crisis-related incident” that left a woman and her two children injured Monday night.

On Dec. 25 around 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a woman and her two young children falling from an upstairs apartment at 13100 block of north Addison Street in North Spokane.

Initial information gathered from law enforcement showed that the woman had a history of ongoing mental health crises and lived on the third floor of an apartment complex with her two children who are, 10-months-old and two-years-old.

Major Crimes Detectives were called on scene to take over the investigation. They were on scene for several hours collecting evidence and conducting interviews with possible witnesses.

At this time, detectives do not know if the fall was accidental or intentional. But, they have released that there is no ongoing threat to the public stemming from this incident.
