GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A woman was arrested after she broke into someone’s car, ran from police and cut her wrists to avoid being arrested.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) said on April 20, around 3:45 p.m., deputies responded to the 7800 block of Grove Road Northeast for someone claiming a woman was in her car and ran into her backyard.

Deputies located the suspect who ran, fell, rolled over, before pulling out a large knife. GCSO said deputies pulled their handguns and demanded the suspect drop the knife.

She then jumped the fence, cut her wrists and ran toward the home where the original incident happened.

GCSO and the Moses Lake Police Department negotiated with the suspect and traded a water bottle for her to drop the knife.

Victoria L. Bragg was arrested and transported to Samaritan Healthcare, where she was treated and released. GCSO said she was escorted out of the ER after she tried to bite and assault Deputies.

Bragg was booked in the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary and two counts of intimidating a public servant.
