MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Eric Hovde wants to be a U.S. senator representing Wisconsin. But he’s picking a team from Indiana to win the NCAA basketball tournament. Hovde, a multimillionaire businessman, is running to take on Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin in one of the country’s most closely watched Senate races. He posted on social media Thursday that “At the end of the day Purdue is too tough and will cut down the nets in Phoenix.” Baldwin spokesperson Andrew Mamo says Baldwin is cheering for Wisconsin and Marquette to meet each other, with the winner going all the way.
