What to do with those leftover easter eggs

SPOKANE, Wash. – Crafting homemade easter eggs with the family is a fun tradition, but it poses a problem once Easter has passed: what should be done with all these hard boiled eggs?

If your family used vegetable based dyes, then those eggs can be composted. Green bin pickup resumed in Spokane in late February. If crayons or permanent ink were used, then those shells should be placed in the garbage.

Those hoping to snack on their hard boiled easter eggs should only do so if they boiled them recently. According to the US Food and Drug Administration, hard boiled eggs should be eaten within a week of being cooked.
