Washington State Patrol to increase patrols during spring break

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State Patrol (WSP) is preparing for spring break by cautioning students and increasing enforcement.

In a statement released Monday, WSP said that emphasis patrols would be on the lookout for impaired driving and speeding violations from March 7 to 17. Law enforcement specifically emphasized that this is the time period in which Washington State University (WSU) students will be on spring break.

WSP additionally warned of the potential for icy travel conditions.

“Motorists traveling to and from WSU will see an increased WSP presence on State Routes 26 and 195 as well as Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass…Be prepared for changing road and weather conditions,” WSP said.

Law enforcement have made over 1,700 impaired driving arrests so far in 2024 according to WSP.
