OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and partner agencies have released drafted plans for wildfire mitigation and are looking for feedback.

The proposed plan will provide a guide for electric utilities operating in the State of Washington as they continue to develop and provide a way to mitigate the threat of utility-ignited wildfires.

The draft and public comment section is available here.

This template will be finalized on April 1 and DNR requests that any feedback or comments should be posted by March 22.

There will also be the opportunity for the public to comment during two sessions hosted via Zoom. The webinars will be held from Feb. 28 and March 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
