SPOKANE, Wash. — If you have been looking for a reason to laugh or a fun weekend event to go to, ONE Spokane Stadium just might have the thing for you.

The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival has announced that they will be making a stop in Spokane on Aug. 23-25 during their tour!

This festival started in Canada in 2021 and is ran by Trixstar LIVE. It started at a single location and has expanded each year. In 2024, Spokane has been added as be one of eight different locations.

This will be the first time the festival will be making an appearance in the states. They are using Spokane as a test market to see how it performs.

Trixstar has already agreed to terms with Spokane’s Public Facilities District (SPFD) to host festivals on the same weekend from 2024-26. Depending on how the first festival goes, they could extend their agreement.

Director of Entertainment for SPFD Matt Meyer says this will have a huge economic impact for Spokane.

He is expecting between $9-12 million in new money coming into Spokane over the three-year agreement. Of the 10,000 tickets available for the event, he expects about 30-40% to be sold to out-of-town visitors.

Those visitors will be staying in Spokane hotels, eating at local Spokane restaurants and spending money at Spokane businesses.

So, who will be performing? We won’t know until the end of this month when SPFD is expected to announce their first headliner.

In past years, the comics who have performed at the festival include, Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Theo Von, Tom Segura and so many more. Once the first headliner is announced tickets will be made available for presale.

SPFD made it clear that almost nobody was expecting this to be the first non-sports event scheduled for One Spokane Stadium. It took 13 months of negotiations after a connection through a mutual friend introduced both entities to each other.

That being said, SPFD says they are 85% done negotiating another event at the stadium for the future. They are hoping to announce an agreement over the next few months. While they wouldn’t say what the event is, they did say they are anticipating more agreements in the future to be concert/music based.
