MOSCOW, Id. — A new family friendly movie featuring the acting of a University of Idaho professor and a boy from Coeur d’Alene premieres on Apple TV Friday May 29th.
“Propeller One-Way Night Coach” is John Travolta’s directing debut. It premiered earlier this month at the 79th Cannes Film Festival in France.
The movie features U of I professor Kelly Eviston-Quinnett, and Coeur d’Alene’s Clark Shotwell as a mother and son who go on a cross-country flight to Hollywood.
“I still can’t believe this is happening — this is something I have dreamt of for most of my life,” Eviston-Quinnett said. “I can’t say enough about how special this has been. To have worked with such an incredible actor and human being, John Travolta, and to have been directed by him — well, it doesn’t get much better than that.”
Shotwell plays a young boy enthralled with airplanes during the golden of flight in America. The journey that starts out as a simple flight turns into the adventure of a lifetime.
Not only was the movie an opportunity for Eviston-Quinnett to work with A-listers of Hollywood, but it was also an opportunity to wave the Vandal Flag.
“I am so excited to carry the spirit of our program and our community to the Cannes premiere,” Eviston-Quinnett said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I want to share it with everyone. I’m so very grateful and so happy to celebrate and share the work.”
The movie is based on Travolta’s 1997 children’s book of the same title.
