Two people injured in a drive-by shooting that turned into a 120 mph car chase

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — According to multiple caller reports, the driver of a black Dodge Charger fired at a red vehicle, causing the red vehicle to crash and roll onto its roof.

GCSO said the Charger was spotted by a deputy who led a short chase after the speeding vehicle, reaching 120 miles per hour. The suspect was pulled over and taken into custody.

Two people were injured and transported to the hospital. One person is suffering from a gunshot wound, and the other is suffering from traumatic injuries.

A suspect has been taken into custody following a drive-by shooting Sunday evening.

According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), around 4:35 p.m., a drive-by shooting was reported involving two vehicles. After the shooting, one vehicle went off State Route 17 and crashed. Two people from that car were injured and transported to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake.

Their conditions remain unknown, and the suspect’s identity has not been released yet.

Northbound State Route 17 remains closed between Patton Blvd and Grape Drive; there is no estimated time of reopening.

This is an ongoing investigation.
