SEATTLE, Wash. — TSA officials at the Sea-Tac Airport recovered a knife that was hidden inside a loaf of bread as the passenger went through security on Wednesday.

TSA officers are trained to detect threats, including artfully concealed items. As the loaf went through the scanner, they discovered this knife hidden inside a loaf of bread.

This incident is not the only time someone has attempted to sneak on a prohibited item. TSA officers have seen people attempt to bring loaded guns through security.

The Port of Seattle, along with other airports around the United States, anticipate that Thanksgiving travel will be “one of the busiest” in its history.

Airport workers including TSA officials, airline kiosk workers, flight attendants, pilots and more are ready for the 1.5 million people traveling this year. Each airport is hoping to get security lines down and get travelers through quickly while still being thorough.

Spokane International Airport is hoping to keep lines at an hour or less. They are urging travelers to arrive two hours prior to their flight in case of long wait times.

Good news at Spokane International Airport is that there are not many flight delays for travelers! There haven’t been cancellations or missed connection due to delays. To check flight status’, head over to the Spokane International Airport website.

For more information about what you are allowed to bring through security and what is prohibited, go to the TSA website.
