SPOKANE, Wash. -A tractor hit a gas line forcing an apartment complex to evacuate Tuesday afternoon.
On Oct. 24, the Spokane Fire Department (SFD) responded to reports of a tractor that hit a gas line while landscaping near the 1000 block of South Cannon Street. SFD told NonStop Local the gas line was about 30 feet from a house under construction.
SFD and Avista got the gas line patched allowing all evacuated residents to return home.
There is a smell of natural gas in the air but SFD said there is nothing to worry about. The odor of the gas can linger even if the gas has dispersed.
