Colville, Wash. — A toddler is dead after a home was fully engulfed in flames Sunday morning.
According to a news release from the Colville Fire Department (SCFD #3), firefighters were called out to a house fire near North Elm St. and 2nd Avenue on March 17 around 8:41 a.m. SCFD #3 was notified that there was a possible toddler trapped inside.
Firefighters managed to fight through the fire and enter the house to search for the toddler. Firefighters found the child dead, and law enforcement made a death notification.
Firefighters continued to fight the fire, and an investigation is ongoing.
