Thieves repel through roof of local car dealership, steal 9 cars

SPOKANE, Wash. — A local car dealership in Spokane was robbed overnight by thieves who cut a hole in the ceiling and repelled into the building.

Around 2 a.m. this morning, thieves were seen on security cameras outside the dealership driving away in cars from the lot.

When employees at Northtown Auto Sales got to work Tuesday morning they found a hole cut in the ceiling. When checking their inventory, they found that at least 15 car keys were stolen and at least 9 cars driven off of their lot.

The general manager of Northtown Auto Sales, stated that a couple months ago their were thieves who attempted to steal vehicles but tripped the emergency system.

Security footage showed one person stealing a minivan and then return with other people to steal additional cars from the lot.

The dealership is still assessing how many cars were stolen from the lot.
