These places around Spokane will offer warm Thanksgiving meals to those in need

SPOKANE, Wash. — Many families and individuals in Spokane may not be able to afford to put a full Thanksgiving meal on the table. Multiple organizations and locations around Spokane are wanting to help those in need celebrate Thanksgiving with a free and delicious meal.

Here are a few places offering ready-to-go Thanksgiving meals:

The Salvation Army Spokane

Families in need can go to The Salvation Army located at 222 East Indiana Avenue for a traditional hot and delicious turkey meal with the trimmings will be served to local vulnerable families and individuals. Captain David Cain, Corps. officer of The Salvation Army said, “We want everyone to know they are loved and valued.”

If you want to attend, the meals will be served from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. on Nov. 23.

Fresh Soul Thanksgiving Meals and Giveaways

100 to-go meals will be offered at 3029 East 5th Avenue. Also each person aged 13-years-old and older will receive $100 cash with the meal. Once the 100 meals have been given out, Fresh Soul will continue to give out $100 cash to each person in line over 13-years-old until all donated money is handed out.

If you want to attend, the 100 meals will start being served at 10 a.m. on Nov. 23 and continue until they run out.

Union Gospel Mission

At the UGM Men’s Shelter located at 1224 East Trent Avenue, they are inviting anyone to attend their Thanksgiving dinner. They are expecting at least 300 people to attend.

If you want to attend, the only rule that they have is that you need to be sober. This meal will be on Nov. 22 from 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

One Heart Spokane

For families in need, One Heart Spokane will be offering Fully cooked Thanksgiving meals. If you are interested please call (509) 724-7396 to check availability.

Cup of Cool Water

Located at 1106 West Second Avenue, Cup of Cool Water will be hosting a sit-down Thanksgiving meal from 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Nov. 22 for homeless youths between the ages of 14 – 24.

These organizations are hosting these events to help those in need this holiday season. Everyone deserves a day to sit with their loved ones and east a nice warm meal.
