The Falls a 12-story condominium project on Spokane river takes step forward

SPOKANE, Wash. — Wes Southwick, a Senior Project Manager at LP Stone Properties, said their new development, The Falls, is helping Spokane unlock its potential.

“The idea that it’s finally going to happen, and happen soon, is something we have been working very hard on for several years is awesome,” said Southwick.

The Falls was initially proposed in 2017 as a three-tower development on the corner of Lincoln and Broadway on the North Bank of the Spokane River. The project has been downsized since being proposed close to a decade ago. The plans initially had the development as three buildings, but Southwick says they had to go back to the drawing board.

“We first started it was pre COVID, and then the price escalation and resolving and supply chain issues and inflation, construction costs. It’s really made things quite tight and difficult to build.”

The revised proposal is a 12-story building offering 38 residential units and convenient underground parking.

Recently, The Falls received a conditional shoreline permit to build on the Spokane River. However, Southwick said they still have a lot to cover,” the next step will be going through the city permitting process and then getting the building and construction started here very soon.”

He added that with many now rushing to the Lilac City, the development is essential, “the idea of adding dense urban housing is something that Spokane needs, something we’re happy and excited to contribute.”
