Spokane, WASH. — The Spokane County Medical examiner identified the man shot and killed in south Spokane as 47-year-old Derek Foreman.
The M.E. wrote that Foreman died from a ‘gunshot wound of the right lower extremity.’
Police swarmed the house on the 900 block of East 33rd Avenue in Spokane Thursday morning around 8:45.
Spokane Police say during the initial investigation officers detained an adult man who was seen by neighbors leaving the scene on foot. After detectives interviewed the man, he was released.
At this time, SPD’s Major Crimes Unit is still investigating this incident, and no arrests have been made. SPD says this appears to be an isolated incident and ‘there is no active threat to the surrounding community.’
This is a developing story and will be updated.
