SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old boy in Spokane Friday morning in Las Vegas.

According to a spokesperson for the Spokane Police Department, John Jones, 38, faces second-degree murder charges in connection to the death of the boy, which happened overnight on Wednesday.

Despite efforts by police officers and Spokane Fire Department firefighters to save the boy, he died at a house on North Ash Street.

Detectives with the police department responded to scene to complete an investigation and, according to the police spokesperson, eventually found probable cause to arrest Jones.

Police said Jones will face extradition to Spokane, but they didn’t clarify when he could be expected to be booked in Spokane County Jail.
