
STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. – A collision on State Route 395 near Colville resulted in injuries to seven people, including four children, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol.
The incident occurred on January 24, 2026, when a vehicle driven by Lela D. Belback, 31, of Colville, failed to yield while crossing State Route 395. This caused a crash with another vehicle driven by Ronald G. Lecaire, 76, also from Colville. Both vehicles collided with a guardrail after the impact.
The report states that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. Charges against Belback are pending investigation.
The injured included two 12-year-old girls, a 13-year-old boy, a 9-month-old boy, and a 3-year-old boy, all from Colville. They were passengers in Belback’s vehicle and were transported to medical facilities, with some airlifted to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Raelynn S. Whiteaker, 19, of Addy, Wash., was also a passenger in Belback’s vehicle and was taken to Mt. Carmel Hospital.
Lecaire was transported to Mt. Carmel Hospital for his injuries.
Both vehicles involved, a red 2008 Toyota Sienna and a 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, sustained reportable damage.
