Spruce up your space with local art found at this year’s Riverfront Art Drop!

SPOKANE, Wash. – Are your walls looking a little drab? Your shelves a bit too boring? Do you wish you had unique, one-of-a-kind artwork to fill your space but don’t know where to find any?

Well, strap on your walking shoes and keep your peepers peeled, because this Saturday is Spokane’s annual Art Drop at Riverfront Park!

Starting in Utah as a way to connect the community, World Art Drop Day is typically celebrated on the first Tuesday of September. This year, however, Spokane is holding their event on Saturday, Sept. 23. If you loved scavenger hunts as a kid, this event is sure to be a blast. So here’s what you need to do.

It all begins with local artists!

Artists, head downtown with one of your creations and fill out an art drop slip at the Numerica Skate Ribbon, or download and print one out yourself in advance. On the form, you can plug your art via various online platforms so you new fan can find you and spread the word!

Then, hide your art around the park with the bottom part of the slip attached. Take a picture of your art and share it online with a hint using the tag #RiverfrontArtDrop.

For non-artists, here’s the fun part! Head to the park between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and check social media platforms under the #RiverfrontArtDrop tag. There, you’ll find a bunch of art with clues on how to find them from local artists. When one catches your eye, use the clue to track it down!

If you’re lucky and no one else has snagged it first, help yourself to some original, lovingly-crafted artwork. Even better, give your new favorite artist a follow and a shoutout to their socials so others can find their work too.

This is a great opportunity for artists to share their craft, and for the community to discover local talents. Don’t miss out!
