SPOKANE, Wash.- The only hot pot restaurant in Spokane will open to the public on Feb. 10.

Hot Pot and Pho, located on east Sprague, will serve custom dishes to patrons using a robot which can bring meals to tables. The device is on wheels and features a screen that acts as a face.

Owner Thuy Pham, who also owns Mongolian BBQ, is looking forward to the opening, and described it as the culmination of nearly two decades of her professional life.

“It’s been my dream for 18 years to create this delicious, healthy, and amazing authentic

Vietnamese experience for Spokane,” Pham said.

Manager Brian Naccarato described Pham’s dedication to providing Spokanites with an excellent dining experience.

“That’s Thuy, is to take care of everybody. She came [to the United States] in 2001 with $690 dollars in her pocket, couldn’t speak any English, went to work, and within about two years started her own restaurant,” Naccarato said.

Pham hopes that the establishment will bring families together and bring a new source of joy to the Spokane area, and illustrated her passion for her work.

“When the customers talk about the food–how they like it–it warms my heart,” Pham said.

Hot Pot and Pho’s grand opening will be from the hours of 11am to 9pm on Saturday.
