Spokane Velocity’s kick-off year finds community support

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Velocity is the city’s first professional soccer team. Their first year has been met with excitement from fans across the Lilac City.

The team is grateful for the outpouring of support which has greeted them at local games, and is looking forward to the rest of what promises to be an eventful season.

“Spokane has told us that they are into this, and what we owe them back is an incredible community asset where all families are welcome,” team co-owner Ryan Harnetiaux said.

A professional women’s team, Spokane Zephyr, is currently recruiting players.

It is clear that as Spokane’s population has grown, the demand for professional sporting events has also increased.
