SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) arrested a man for malicious mischief on Monday after he allegedly barricaded himself in a treatment room at Deaconess Hospital.
SPD stated that Cody Harris, who was receiving care at the facility, flipped a bed and used a piece of metal from the frame to threaten staff members and himself. Law enforcement claims that damage to the room totaled over $10,000.
Though the man was in the room alone, SPD Hostage Negotiators assisted at the scene and had conversations with him before he surrendered to police.
Harris is currently in Spokane County Jail and faces two charges related to the alleged conduct.
