Spokane man pleads guilty to possessing child pornography

SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane man whose dog killed his girlfriend’s grandson on Halloween 2023 has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography.

Dustin Block pleaded guilty to possessing the illegal material on Feb. 22. A voyeurism charge was dropped as part of the plea agreement, and Block will pay a $1,000 fee.

He is no longer in Spokane County Jail and will be monitored for a year.

His sentencing was not for the death of 4-year-old boy Colton Michael Kline.

Block was rearrested by Spokane law enforcement after the boy’s death when it was discovered that he was in violation of his terms of release for his previous child pornography and voyeurism charges.

His release was based upon the condition that he did not have any contact with children. Because he was at the home of the 4-year-old who was killed by his dog, law enforcement found that he was in fact in contact with a child.

Block’s sentencing hearing was on Feb. 26 and he has since been released.
