SPOKANE, Wash. – It’s candidate filing week in Spokane County. Campaigns are gearing up for a new phase of the political season as they officially file to run for public office.
Filing week runs from Monday to Friday of this week. Candidates are required by state law to register with the county in which they are running for office.
While filing is a relatively innocuous process, it provides campaigns with an opportunity to highlight their candidates and marks the official point at which they ensure that their names will be on the August primary ballot.
