SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane woman was arrested for driving under the influence early Saturday morning after she drove up to the scene where her husband was arrested for the same crime.

On March 2, around 12:10 a.m., a Spokane Police DUI officer made a traffic stop in downtown Spokane. According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), Dallin R Carpenter, 33, was driving at a high rate of speed and was about to turn the wrong way on a one-way street.

During the traffic stop, Hannah M Carpenter, 27, pulled up as she approached officers, they observed she was also impaired.

Both drivers were arrested for DUI.

“Driving under the influence is a serious crime and takes a significant toll on both life and property every year. In addition to limitations in a person’s physical ability to operate a vehicle being under the influence also impairs decision making and other cognitive functions. SPD takes this crime seriously, devoting resources to address the problem and make our community safer,” SPD said.
