SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office on Friday identified the deputy who shot and injured a domestic violence suspect on Tuesday in Spokane Valley.

Deputy Anthony Gosline, hired by the sheriff’s office in early 2021, was placed on leave in accordance with the standard procedure for instances where deputies fire their weapons.

Deputies were called to a domestic violence incident on East 10th Avenue in Spokane Valley Tuesday evening. They found the suspect, a 30-year-old man, had an active domestic violence warrant for his arrest.

Early Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said in a release that the deputies found the man armed with a gun.

Deputy Gosline then fired his weapon, striking and hospitalizing the suspect.

At the time, the sheriff’s office said the suspect had potentially life-threatening injuries. His current condition isn’t clear.
