SPOKANE, Wash.- Three new officials have been appointed to the Spokane County Board of Health. Only one is a medical doctor.
The board, which oversees the Spokane Regional Health District (SRHD), is assembled of members who represent various stakeholder groups in Spokane.
Dr. Monica Blykowski-May, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Veterans Affairs health care in Spokane, will represent health care facilities on the board.
Patricia Kienholz, a prominent voice in Washington’s public health policy dialogue and the secretary of the 3rd legislative district Republican Party, will represent public health consumers.
Charlie Durañona, a Chief of Community Relations for Fairchild Air Force Base and a former veterans liaison for Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers, will represent public health stakeholders.
Blykowski-May is the only doctor who was appointed to the board. The health district is still searching for a board member to represent tribal communities.
