Spokane Chief Financial Officer Tonya Wallace resigns

SPOKANE, Wash – Chief Financial Officer Tonya Wallace resigned Tuesday Jan. 10.

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown and Wallace mutually agreed she would step away from the position on the 15th.

Wallace will assist with the transition as needed throughout the coming months.

Brown has appointed Matt Boston to fill the position.

Boston has a background in accounting, with a focus on government as well as not-for-profit organizations and looks forward to the opportunity.

“I’m honored to be working with Mayor Brown. I look forward to continuing to serve the City of Spokane. I will be focused on collaboration and finding innovative solutions to the budgetary challenges Spokane has faced the past few years,” Boston said.

Matt Boston served as the Budget and Finance Director for the City of Spokane since 2021.
