
SPOKANE, Wash. – A fire broke out on the main floor of a three-story apartment building on West 5th Ave, causing heavy smoke to fill the hallways.
The fire was reported on the 1300 block of W 5th Ave around 1:00 p.m.
The Spokane Fire Department said the fire originated on the main floor of the three-story apartment building in an area under maintenance.
Spokane Fire Department reported that two residents were trapped inside and required evacuation assistance. There were no injuries, but medics evaluated all residents as a precaution.
All apartment units were successfully evacuated, and an investigation into the cause is underway.
