SPOKANE, Wash. – The Kalispel, Spokane and South Pend Oreille fire departments responded to a house fire in Newport on Wednesday.
Newport Police, Public Works and the Red Cross were also involved in the fire response.
According to a social media post from the South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue Department, there were 17 people and 6 vehicles involved in the effort.
After the fire was put out, the Newport Subway prepared sandwiches for the responders.
