Snoqualmie Pass closed westbound after multiple spinouts

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. – Eastbound lanes of I-90 through Snoqualmie Pass are open, and westbound lanes remain closed.

According to WSDOT, chains are required on all vehicles except those with all-wheel drive when traveling eastbound. All oversized vehicles are prohibited.

Due to compact snow and ice, westbound traffic remains stopped at Exit 106 near Ellensburg, Exit 84 near Cle Elum and Exit 71 near Easton.

Snoqualmie Pass is closed in both directions due to icy roads and multiple spinouts.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), compact snow and ice on the roadway caused many crashes. There is no estimated time for reopening.
