SNAP provides free weatherization for families in need

SPOKANE, Wash. – According to SNAP, the average household spends about $8-10k on weatherization services at their home.

SNAP’s new program could get you that for free.

Their goal is to support households with low-income families. If your household meets the following criteria, you may qualify:

1-person threshold, less than or equal to 49k / year2-person threshold, less than or equal to 57k / year3-person threshold, less than or equal to 64k / year4-person threshold, less than or equal to 71k / year

All you have to do is call SNAP or go online and apply for the program. Then SNAP will send an auditor to your home to see if you qualify and to determine what improvements could benefit you and increase energy efficiency in your home.

SNAP can insulate your attic, basement, crawl space, give you new windows, doors, or just seal holes that cause a draft.

This is all possible through government funding. You can visit the website for more information about SNAP programs. You can also find the application online.
