SPOKANE, Wash. — All investigative findings from a shooting in Sept. 2022 have been submitted to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office who will make a decision on the fate of two Spokane police officers.

On Sept. 4, 2022, a complainant called SPD indicating a court order had been issued and needed to be served to their neighbor.

At 10 p.m. that same day, the neighbor had returned to the complainant’s home near Haven and Wabash. They mentioned that he was believed to have a AR-15 style rifle. Multiple officers responded to the scene.

According to a release from SPD, when they attempted to serve a court-ordered anti-harassment order, the suspect pointed an AR-15 style rifle at them. Shortly after, officers on scene opened fire and killed him.

Officers quickly rendered first aid and transported the suspect to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The person shot and killed by Spokane police was identified by the Spokane County Medical Examiner as 41-year-old Robert Bradley.

The complainant mentioned that Bradley had threatened him with a gun before Bradley was shot by police, according to reporting from our partners at the Spokesman-Review.

Per standard procedure, Detective Trevor Walker and Corporal Chris Johnson were placed on administrative leave as the Spokane Independent Investigative Response team (SIIR) conducted an investigation.

As of Jan. 4, 2024, SIIR has submitted their investigative findings, including all evidence, investigative reports and forensic analysis to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office will look over all the findings and release their legal determination when appropriate.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available. Check back for updates.
