SCRAPS New Year Hours of Business

SCRAPS will be closed on Sunday January 1st in observance of the New Year holiday but will be open on Monday, January 2nd at 10 a.m.

SCRAPS would like to remind pet owners to start 2017 off on the right paw by keeping your pets safe during the celebrations.   New Year’s Eve is full of fun parties, noise, and libations. However, your pet’s idea of a perfect New Year’s Eve is probably snuggling with you on the couch.

As you count down to the new year, please keep in mind that strings of thrown confetti can get lodged in a cat’s intestines, if ingested, perhaps necessitating surgery. Noisy poppers can terrify pets and cause possible damage to sensitive ears. Also, remember that many pets are also scared of fireworks, so be sure to secure them in a safe, escape-proof area as midnight approaches.

And the best safety tips of all?  Make sure your pet is licensed and microchipped.  It’s the only way to make sure they aren’t left out in the cold this new year!
