SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Thousands of fans are gathering in San Francisco for Super Bowl 60, and security is a top priority.
NBC’s Tom Llamas spoke with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and observed a massive security operation in place to protect the attendees.
Security measures include TSA’s explosive-sniffing canines on the ground, armed F15 fighter jets in the air, and Coast Guard boats in the waters. The event’s security is at the highest possible level.
Santa Clara Police Chief Cory Morgan shared insights from the command center inside Levi’s Stadium.
“You know, we’re ready. We’ve been doing this for two years now planning, so we’ve got a great plan in place,” said Morgan.
The command center is equipped with hundreds of cameras, providing situational awareness throughout the stadium.
“It’s all about situational awareness for us,” Morgan said.
The collaboration between federal and local law enforcement ensures a secure environment for all fans attending the event.
