
Quarterback Russell Wilson announced his retirement from the NFL in a social media post titled “Thank You, Football” on Wednesday, ending a decorated 14-year career.
Wilson is finalizing a deal to become a CBS Sports analyst, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday. The 37-year-old quarterback also received an offer from the New York Jets to join the team as a backup to Geno Smith.
The 10-time Pro Bowl selection won a Super Bowl and the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award during his career. Wilson threw for 46,966 yards, 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions across 14 seasons, including 10 with the Seattle Seahawks, two with the Denver Broncos, one with the Pittsburgh Steelers and his final season with the New York Giants.
