SPOKANE, Wash. – The Rotary Club of Global Action for Refugees and Forced Migrants will celebrate International Women’s Day with an event held at Spokane Community College on Saturday.
The “Empower Her” celebration will take place from 1 to 5 pm and include an auction and several cultural presentations. An awards ceremony will conclude the festivities.
“The event celebrates women’s achievements and cultural contributions…[and] helps to form their creative response to the global conflicts that result in displaced persons, refugees, and forced migrants,” organizers said.
The club was chartered in Nov. 2023 and hopes to foster inclusion of displaced peoples in Spokane.
