Ready to hit the slopes? Here’s when local mountain resorts are expected to open

SPOKANE, Wash. — We are getting close to the winter season and many people are eager to hit the slopes! Some of our local ski resorts are already preparing to open but may need a little more time for the temperatures to cool off.

Some resorts have an estimated opening date, but may change depending on future weather conditions.

All of these opening dates depend on temperatures and the amount snow on the mountain. It is time to get prepared to hit the slopes, so make sure you have all the right clothing, gear and anything you may need before you head up to one of these resorts.

Also, if you are wanting to turn your ski trip into a full weekend, Schweitzer was ranked the fifth most affordable ski destination in North America.

These rankings were done by HomeToGo which looked at the price of lift tickets per person and average nightly accommodation price per person.

Schweitzer has a lift ticket price of $110 and a nightly lodging price of $100.17 which is a trip total of $210.17.

The resort ranked as the most affordable ski resort in North America was Mission Ridge Ski Resort in Washington. Lift tickets cost $99 and have nightly lodging for $79.37 which is a trip total of $178.37.
