Quadruple murder suspect Majorjon Kaylor reaches agreement to plead guilty to lesser charges

WALLACE, Idaho – Quadruple murder suspect, Majorjon Kaylor, came to a plea agreement with the state of Idaho in the case against him.

In court documents filed on Dec. 13, it shares Kaylor will plead guilty to four counts of second-degree murder. The remaining charge of burglary will be dismissed as part of the deal.

The agreement was made on Monday, Dec. 11, in the Shoshone County.

The agreement also states the following:

“That the state of Idaho, the victims, and the Defendant, shall each retain the ability to argue openly at the time of sentencing for any sentence which said party deems appropriate.That the Defendant shall retain the ability to present expert testimony in mitigation at the time of sentencing.That the State shall retain the ability to analyze independently the applicability of charges for any other party who may be culpable in the deaths of the victims contained in Counts One through Four.All of which is stipulated to by the Parties and reached as result reached through mediation in this matter pursuant to Rule 18.1 and this Court’s order for mediation.”

In November, both parties agreed to enter mediation to reach an agreement in this case.

Kaylor is accused of killing Kenneth Guardipee, 65, Kenna Guardipee, 41, Devin Smith, 18 and Aiken Smith, 16. Over the summer, prosecutors indicated they would not be seeking the death penalty in this case. Kaylor was originally charged with first degree murder but as part of his plea deal, those murder charges have been reduced to second degree.
