POTLATCH, Idaho – A prescribed burn in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests near Potlatch will begin on Tuesday.
The burn was announced on April 17 and will start Tuesday due to ideal weather conditions.
Nez Perce-Clearwater Fuels Program Manager Theodore Peterson explained the timeframe in a Monday statement.
“Taking advantage of opportunistic burn windows will help reduce future smoke exposure, protect communities, and protect public health and safety,” Peterson said.
Burns are expected to conclude by the end of the week but are dependent upon weather and burn progress.
