QUINCY, Wash. — The Port of Quincy Event Center was given $309,000 from the Washington State Legislature to upgrade its building.

According to a press release from Port of Quincy, the funds will be used to upgrade the main kitchen and interior lighting.

The funding “will improve the center so it will be able to host larger community events, business meetings and conferences throughout the year in Quincy, WA, a fast-growing rural community in western Grant County, ” The Port of Quincy Business & Event Center said.

Quincy is about 35 miles from any larger towns, making it inconvenient for residents when they need a large space to host a community or business event. The money will help expand the event center, making it easy to hold any large group event.

The event center says that this upgrade will not only encourage community gatherings but also help improve revenues in small businesses and attract more people to hotels and restaurants in Quincy.
