ELLENSBURG, Wash. – One person is confirmed dead after a shooting near Central Washington University.
The Kittitas County Coroner states that a young adult died as a result of the Friday shooting. No additional details about the victim are available at this time.
A shelter in place advisory was issued at CWU in Ellensburg following shots reportedly being fired near University Way.
The suspected shooter was wearing a purple hoodie and carrying a bag. Individuals in the area were advised to remain vigilant of their surroundings and to remain in place.
Nearby Morgan Middle School was also placed under a brief lock down due to the reported shooting.
The investigation is still ongoing and no one has been arrested in connection with the incident as of the publishing of this article.
