WALLACE, Idaho — Parties involved in the case of a man accused of killing a family in Kellogg have agreed to try mediation outside of the court to reach an agreement.

The council for the state and the defendant have agreed to participate in mediation for Majorjon Kaylor’s case.

Kaylor is accused of killing a family of four in Kellogg, Idaho on June 18.

Mediation for felony cases is voluntary and will take place only on agreement of both parties. These parties have to schedule mediation no later than Dec. 16 and will meet with Hon. Jay Gaskill, a retired District Judge.

The parties will make an effort and “exercise good faith” during the mediation process. After the mediation, Gaskill will file a report to the Court with their decision.

Before the decision is final, District Judge Barbara Duggan will sign off on this agreement between the parties.

Majorjon Kaylor is set to appear at a pre-trial hearing on Nov. 27 at 2:45 p.m. at Shoshone County Courthouse.

At this time, Kaylor’s trial date is scheduled for Jan. 2, 2024, at 9 a.m.
